States of Growth

States Of Growth delves into various forms of intelligence and the essence of growth, materialized in dynamic virtual sculptures experienced through Augmented Reality. Inspired by recurring patterns and scaling mechanisms observed in both the brain and urban structures, the project draws from fractals and differential growth patterns.

The project poses a futuristic question: What if the evolution of cities is a collective growth process, responsive and adaptive over time? How can art and science integrate different forms of intelligence, novel collective growth patterns, and diverse public involvement?

Participants actively contribute to the current and future development of the project. Utilizing both passive and active EEG electroencephalogram data, computational transformations influence eight chosen parameters within a specially designed computational growing system, resulting in a symbiotic digital architectural artwork.

This interdisciplinary collaboration between art and science challenges established notions of artificial intelligence, the automation of nature, and urban growth. It fosters a dialogue on achieving a balanced collaboration among diverse voices, nature, and computation.
